DESCRIPTION:

Malkoff MDC XPL EZP (Easy Programmable) Head. The head fits standard E-Series (16650) Bodies. It DOES NOT FIT the DF (Dual Fuel) 18650 Bodies or other standard 18650 Bodies. If use with an 18650 battery is desired, it can use the MDC 18650 to E-Series Body sold HERE.

This Head can be reprogrammed to use different combinations of the Low, Medium, and High modes. The full output runtime on a 2000-2500mah 16650 battery is approximately 45min to 1 hour. The full output runtime on 2x CR123 is approximately 30-45 minutes. The LED is a Cool White (5700K) Cree XP-L or a Neutral White (4000K 80 CRI) Cree XP-L.

*Below 3.6 volts the flashlight will slowly taper in output. Low Voltage Protection (fast taper) doesn't start until 3 volts. Below 2.7 volts the flashlight will turn itself off. The use of an unprotected cell entails additional risks.

**Actual highest output is dependent on the internal resistance of the battery. The use of an unprotected cell entails additional risks.

It is constructed of 6061 T6 Aluminum and is HA Black Type III Hard Anodized. This design utilizes a custom orange peel reflector designed by Don McLeish. The reflector offers a very nice balance of throw and spill. It is an outstanding room lighter with short to medium reach. Great for lighting treetops from ground level.

Malkoff Devices encourages the use of protected batteries for overall safety. A low internal resistance, unprotected, high discharge battery will provide the highest output. However, the use of an unprotected cell entails additional risks.

It will also work with two CR123 primary batteries, at a reduced output.

  • A long button press is a long (>0.5 second) button press. In most cases latching the switch is not necessary.
  • To enter Programming Mode perform 20 short button presses. It is not necessary to count or be exact. Simply perform short presses until the light begins to fast strobe.
