MDC Bodyguard V1 Flashlight

Hard Anodized Black MDC Bodyguard V1 Flashlight. This flashlight is a specialized tactical use flashlight with up to 600 out the front lumens depending on battery configuration.

The 1 CR123 Body has a Black Type III Hard Anodized finish, protruding tailcap button, removable tactical grip ring, and McClicky forward clicky (latching) switch. The head is fully potted and utilizes a TIR Optic for a good balance of spot and spill.  The LED is a Cool White (6200K) Cree XP-L.

With the buttons above, you can choose from the Unshrouded Tail version or the Shrouded Tail version.

Please note that the Shrouded Tail is now using the New MDC 1CR123 Body (we don't have unshrouded new bodies available yet). We will be happy to supply the New Short Clip with this Body (contact cathy@malkoffdevices.com to request), However the cutout on the grip ring will still be present. 

Also note that the "Rogers" or "Surefire" method, of flashlight deployment, will be difficult (if not impossible) to implement with the Shrouded Tail.

The single cell MDC Bodyguard Flashlight will support one primary CR123 lithium battery or one rechargeable Li-ion battery.  IMR type High drain type battery is recommended.  You can purchase batteries and chargers directly from us in the Batteries and Chargers section of the Web Store.

Mode of Operation: 

When activated the light comes on in High.  The light will maintain this output for approximately 8 seconds.  The light will automatically step-down to the lower output after the initial 8 seconds. 

Each time the switch is activated, the countdown timer is reset.  In this fashion, the light Always comes on in the Highest output.  The lower output is to maintain tactical awareness without overheating the light or the battery. 

This Flashlight will emit a slight (low volume) buzz or whine when the step down from high to low occurs.  This is normal and is not considered a defect of the Flashlight.

Summary of Output: 

CR123 (3 volts) ------ 400 lumens 8 sec., Then 175 lumens after step-down

IMR 16340 ------ 800 lumens for 8 sec., Then 200 lumens after step-down

Battery life is dependent on the amount of high output time utilized.  The light will pull 2+ Amps at high output.  Expect 15 to 60 minutes of usage depending on how the high output mode is used.  A Rechargeable IMR 16340 battery will give the best balance of performance/runtime.

This Flashlight is protected from reverse polarity.

Things to Know Before Purchase:

This flashlight was designed for use with a single primary lithium CR123 Battery, or one rechargeable Li-ion cell.  Best balance of performance/runtime is achieved with IMR chemistry.

The input voltage of the Head is 3 - 6 volts. Input voltages of more than 6 volts may damage this flashlight.

This light is protected against reverse polarity.
