DESCRIPTION:

This is a Drop-In LED Upgrade Conversion for the old school incandescent Maglite® C and D Sized Flashlights.  The MDMLA will allow you to use our brass bodied dropins in your incandescent Maglite® flashlight.

The Mag Adapter has been updated to simplify installation. It Does NOT have a threaded connection to the Maglite Bulb Stem.

  1. Completely remove the Maglite head from the Maglite body.

  2. Remove the bezel from the Maglite. Be sure to keep the lens and O-ring in the bezel.

  3. Remove the reflector and set aside (you won't need it for this)

  4. Disassemble the Adapter - It screws apart into two pieces.

  5. Place the brass dropin between the two halves and screw back together.

  6. Place the assembled Adapter into the head and screw the bezel (with lens and O-ring) back onto the head with the Adapter in the Head.

  7. Remove the bulb and collet from the stem in the Maglite body. Leave the collet off.

  8. Screw the reassembled Maglite head (containing the assembled Adapter) back onto the body. Screw it on far enough to cover the body O-ring. It is not necessary to crank it down tight.

The Adapter is constructed of CNC machined structural aircraft aluminum.  Outputs and runtimes are listed in the tables below. It will NOT fit the Maglite ML25 flashlight.

All of the Dropins (except the M61HOT and M91T) utilize a custom orange peel reflector designed by Don McLeish.  The reflector offers a very nice balance between throw and spill.  It is an outstanding room lighter and short to medium spotter.

The M61HOT and M91T utilize a tightly focused optic. 

The M61 LED is a White (5700K) Luminous SST-20, Neutral White (4000K 95CRI) Luminous SST-20, or Warm White (3000K 95 CRI) Luminous SST-20.

The M91 LED is a Cool White (6200K) Cree XP-L, a Neutral White (4000K) Cree XP-L, or a Warm White (3000K) Cree XP-L. 

The M61HOT and M91T LEDs are a Cool White (6200K).
