This is the Malkoff Devices P60 style Multi-Mode Drop-in LED Upgrade Conversion with solid brass heatsink construction. The output on high is 500 out the front lumens.
The design utilizes a custom orange peel reflector designed by Don McLeish. The reflector offers a very nice balance between throw and spill. It is an outstanding room lighter and short to medium spotter. It will easily illuminate objects at 350+ feet and will blind opponents within a 100 foot radius.
It was designed specifically for use in Malkoff MD2, Elzetta ZFL-M60, and SureFire 6P, 6Z, C2, M2, and G2 flashlights. It may or may not fit other models. The input voltage is 3.4-6 volts. Below 3.4 volts it will drop out of regulation and run direct drive. This dropin is protected from reverse polarity. The LED is a cool (6200K) white Cree XP-G2.
Mode of Operation:
The switch debounce time is 150 milliseconds. The mode will advance each time the light is momentarily activated and the switch debounce time has passed.
If the light is left on for more than 1 second, the next off/on cycle will return the light to low. If the light is not left on for 1+ seconds the next off/on cycle will advance the mode. The off time has no relation to the mode switching of the light. In most normal use, the light will always come on in low.
Summary of Modes:
20 lumens/100 lumens/500 lumens
Current Draw: 50 ma/270 ma/1450 ma
This upgrade was designed for rugged service from the ground up. It is fully potted to stand up to rough service and recoil. This item is covered by our Lifetime Warranty.
Things to Know Before Purchase:
This dropin was primarily designed for use with a single Li-ion protected rechargeable cell. If you are not familiar with, and comfortable with, safety rules and issues regarding rechargeable Li-ion cells, do not use Li-ion cells. Two primary CR123A cells are acceptable, but not ideal, due to high current draw (short runtimes, 15 minutes continuous) on high.
The input voltage is 3.4 -6 volts. Input voltages of more 6 volts may destroy this module.
A Fitting Ringis required if used with a shock-absorbing head (ie Surefire M2).
This Dropin is not recommended for use in Weapon Lights.
An M61 Lens Kit, or suitable equivalent, is required for use in Elzetta Flashlights. This is not necessary for Surefire Lights.
WARNING: This light is capable of causing eye damage at close range. Please use the light responsibly!!!
This dropin was designed to operate at maximum output for extended times in metal lights. Operating the unit for more than 5 continuous minutes on high in plastic lights may damage the dropin. This is not an issue in metal lights or plastic lights with a metal head.
